What does patio furniture actually cost?

Most stores won't tell you what people really spend. We looked at roughly three thousand outdoor purchases at our store over the last three years — here's an honest picture of what things cost, so you can plan your budget before you fall in love with a set.

What people actually spend

Four budgets, four very different patios

01

Under $500

The refresh

New cushions, an outdoor rug, a cover for the winter, or a single replacement chair. Most of the individual transactions in our store are in this range — it's the easiest way to make last year's patio feel new.

02

$1,800 – $3,000

The starter set

A real, well-made conversation or dining set — not disposable big-box furniture. Complete showroom sets on our floor start just under $2,000, and this tier is where quality begins to pay for itself in years of use.

Sets under $3,000
03

$4,000 – $7,500

The full outdoor room

This is the most common budget for a complete patio at our store — a deep-seating group or 7-piece dining set with premium frames and fabrics, often with an umbrella and covers included in the plan.

$7,500 and up

The whole backyard

Multiple zones — dining plus lounge, a fire table, shade, and the details. More of our customers' outdoor-furniture dollars land in this tier than any other, usually built piece by piece with a designer's help.

Premium sets

Where the money actually goes: about half of what our customers spend on outdoor furniture is on complete setups between $4,000 and $10,000 — usually a seating group or dining set plus shade, covers, and a fire feature, assembled as one plan.

Piece by piece

Typical prices at our store

Ranges below cover most of what's on our floor and site right now — the low end is a well-made entry piece, not a throwaway. A handful of premium pieces fall outside these ranges.

Good questions

Patio furniture cost questions, answered

How much does a good patio furniture set cost?
At our store, most complete outdoor furniture sets sell between $4,000 and $7,500. Well-made starter sets begin just under $2,000, and larger multi-zone setups run $7,500 to $15,000. Those figures come from our actual sales, not industry averages.
How much should I budget for an outdoor dining set?
Complete 7-piece dining sets on our showroom floor currently run about $4,000 to $5,700. Building one à la carte, tables run $1,000 to $4,600 and chairs $340 to $1,600 each depending on material and comfort level.
Why does quality patio furniture cost more than big-box furniture?
It lives outside around the clock. Quality outdoor furniture uses welded or marine-grade frames, solution-dyed performance fabrics, and finishes engineered for sun and rain — which is why it lasts 10 to 20 years instead of two or three seasons. Our materials guide explains the differences.
What's the cheapest way to refresh a patio?
Replacement cushions ($105–$180 in stock sizes, custom quoted), an outdoor rug ($150–$240), or a market umbrella (from about $280) change the feel of a space for under $500. We also custom-order cushions for furniture we sold decades ago.
How much does a gas fireplace cost installed?
At our store a direct-vent gas fireplace runs about $7,800 to $22,800 installed, and a gas insert for an existing masonry fireplace $6,600 to $11,200 — the unit, typical venting, and our installation. Build one online and the installed range is on screen as you choose the front and finish; the written quote is tailored to your home.
How much does a wood stove cost installed?
About $5,400 to $15,500 installed. The stove itself is the smaller part of that spread: connecting to a sound existing chimney lands near the low end, while a new stainless steel chimney through the roof or up the side of the house makes up most of the difference. A hearth pad is extra where you need one.
Is financing available for patio furniture?
Yes — 0% interest for 12 months with approved credit on in-store purchases over $2,000 through Synchrony Home, with a 10% deposit at the time of sale. See our financing page for details.
Do prices include delivery?
