What we service

Gas Stove & Fireplace Service & Repair
Trouble with your gas stove, fireplace, or insert — or just due for its annual service? Our experienced team will get it running safely and efficiently again, fast and hassle-free. We service all the gas brands we sell, and can usually help even if you bought it elsewhere.

Wood, Pellet, & Coal Stove & Insert Service & Repair
Annual cleaning, inspection, and repair for wood, pellet, and coal stoves and inserts purchased from Bowman's — gaskets, controls, glass, and venting checked so the stove is ready for the season.

Outdoor furniture repair
Restore your outdoor furniture to full comfort: we replace slings, order replacement cushions, and repair cantilever umbrellas.

Gas grill service
Repairs for gas grills purchased from Bowman's — burners, igniters, regulators, valves, and the parts to fix them right. Schedule it online, same as stove service.
Safety first
Why annual service matters
A fire appliance is the one thing in your home that should never get the “run it until it breaks” treatment. Yearly service keeps burners, ignition systems, and venting clean and working the way the manufacturer intended — so your unit heats efficiently, lights reliably, and stays safe for your family.
Regular maintenance also protects your investment: most manufacturers expect routine service to keep warranty coverage in force, and small fixes caught at a cleaning are far cheaper than a mid-January breakdown.
Beat the fall rush
The best time to book
The smartest time for annual service is late spring through early fall. When the first cold snap hits, every fireplace in the county gets switched on — and the ones that won't light all call the same week. Book in the off-season and you'll have your pick of appointment windows.
Thinking about a wood-to-gas conversion? Starting the conversation in summer means your project is burning before the holidays, not waiting behind the winter service queue.

Good questions
Service questions, answered
- How often should a gas fireplace or stove be serviced?
- Once a year. Annual service keeps the burner, pilot or ignition system, and venting clean and working safely, catches small problems before the heating season, and is required by many manufacturers to keep the warranty in force.
- What does a service visit typically include?
- For a gas unit, a typical annual visit includes cleaning the burner, logs, and glass, checking the pilot or electronic ignition, inspecting the venting, and test-running the unit. For wood, pellet, and coal stoves we clean, inspect, and check gaskets and controls so the stove is ready for the season.
- Do you service units that weren't purchased at Bowman's?
- We service every hearth brand we sell. For gas stoves, fireplaces, and inserts we can usually help even if you bought the unit elsewhere. Wood, pellet, and coal service is reserved for units purchased from Bowman's or existing service customers.
- When is the best time to book annual service?
- Late spring through early fall. Once the first cold week hits, the service schedule fills quickly — booking your annual cleaning in the off-season means more open appointment windows and your fireplace is ready the first night you want a fire.
- How does online scheduling work?
- Pick what needs service, tell us the service address, and choose from real open arrival windows on our service schedule — the same calendar our technicians run on. Your pick is a request until our service team confirms it, within 1 business day. Nothing is charged online.
- What area do you cover?
- We service stoves, fireplaces, and inserts within about 1 hour of our Ephrata store — covering the Lancaster, Reading, Lebanon, and York areas. Not sure if you're in range? Send a request or call and we'll let you know.
- Can you repair outdoor furniture and umbrellas?
- Yes. We replace slings and order replacement cushions for outdoor furniture, repair cantilever umbrellas, and repair gas grills purchased from Bowman's (burners, igniters, regulators — not cleaning). Grill repair can be scheduled online just like stove service. Tell us what you have in the request form and we'll follow up with the details.
- Do you convert wood fireplaces to gas?
- Yes — gas conversions are one of our most common projects. We handle the insert or log set, the gas connection, and the venting, and we walk you through the options and pricing before any work starts.
